Approval

What is it?

The authorization step that allows reviewed understanding to become governed.

Approval is the organizational decision that a reviewed Assertion may become governed intelligence.

Without approval, a Candidate Assertion should not be published or used as active Organizational Intelligence.

Organizational Reality

The updated policy is distributed. Managers begin using it in team meetings and employees adjust their plans around it.

No authorized owner ever approved it. When the guidance is challenged, the organization cannot show who allowed it to govern.

Why it happens

This commonly happens because distribution is mistaken for authorization. People may receive guidance before an accountable owner has approved it to govern.
