Canonical definition
SALARA is the platform, product, project, and conforming reference implementation for Guided Intelligence.
SALARA helps an organization build, govern, compile, activate, execute, inspect, and continuously improve Organizational Intelligence.
It is not a model, chatbot, search layer, workflow tool, or document repository. Those technologies can participate in a SALARA implementation, but none of them is the center of the architecture.
The center is the organization's own governed intelligence asset: what the organization knows, how it knows it, when that knowledge applies, what evidence supports it, and how it may be used.
Guided Intelligence is the implementation methodology. Organizational Intelligence is the governed asset. SALARA is the reference implementation that makes the methodology operational.
Entity clarity
Organizational Intelligence is governed organizational understanding preserved as a reusable asset.
Guided Intelligence is the methodology for applying that asset at the moment work needs guidance.
SALARA is the reference implementation that turns those ideas into governed enterprise operation.
This distinction matters because it prevents SALARA from being misunderstood as another AI wrapper. AI may help acquire, reason over, or communicate with intelligence, but SALARA does not make AI the source of organizational authority.

Operational model
SALARA begins with source material, but it does not stop at storage or retrieval.
Source material becomes candidate Assertions. Governance determines what can be accepted, rejected, clarified, superseded, or preserved. Approved Assertions can be compiled into versioned Organizational Intelligence. Publication makes compiled intelligence available. Activation selects the published intelligence for a defined runtime context. Runtime uses the activated asset to guide an interaction. Replay makes the result inspectable.
These are not decorative stages. They separate concerns that enterprises often collapse: source evidence, governance, compilation, release control, runtime use, and inspection.
Knowledge CI/CD describes the governed path by which knowledge enters SALARA before it can become runtime-authoritative. The Organizational Intelligence Compiler describes the implementation concern that turns approved Assertions into deterministic, deployable Organizational Intelligence. The Operational Ledger records the evidence trail across those steps.

The distinction
Model-centric systems usually place the model, prompt, retrieval layer, or agent loop at the center. They may retrieve useful information, generate fluent answers, automate tasks, or call tools. These capabilities can be valuable, but the organization's reusable intelligence often remains external to the system's center of gravity.
SALARA places deterministic Organizational Intelligence at the center instead.
Deterministic does not mean every enterprise situation becomes simple, static, or perfectly certain. It means runtime-authoritative guidance is derived from governed, versioned, inspectable intelligence rather than reconstructed from temporary context each time.
In a model-centric approach, the question is often: What can the model infer from the context it has now?
In SALARA, the question is: What has the organization governed, compiled, activated, and authorized for this runtime context?
That shift is the difference between generating a plausible response and operating from an organizational asset.

Enterprise adoption
Enterprise adoption starts by choosing where repeated interpretation already costs the organization time, risk, trust, or consistency.
The first adoption target does not need to be broad. A policy domain, service workflow, compliance procedure, customer-support pattern, onboarding path, or operational decision area can be enough. The point is to identify work where the organization repeatedly rebuilds the same understanding and where better preservation would matter.
SALARA then gives that domain a governed path: acquire source material, form candidate Assertions, review and approve what the organization is prepared to stand behind, compile it into Organizational Intelligence, publish it, activate it for runtime use, and inspect the result.
This approach can coexist with search, knowledge bases, workflow automation, knowledge graphs, enterprise applications, and AI models. SALARA does not require an enterprise to abandon those systems. It gives them a governed intelligence layer that can make their use more consistent, inspectable, and accountable.
Continuous evolution
Organizational Intelligence is not a one-time knowledge-base migration.
Organizations change. Policies change. Products change. Customers change. Regulations change. Exceptions become precedents, precedents become patterns, and patterns sometimes need to be retired.
SALARA treats that change as a lifecycle. New sources can enter. Candidate Assertions can be reviewed. Prior Assertions can be superseded. Compiled intelligence can be republished. Runtime behavior can be replayed. Governance can improve the asset instead of merely correcting isolated answers.
The result is continuous Organizational Intelligence evolution: the organization keeps improving the governed asset that future interactions use.
