Knowledge Sources
What is it?
The approved websites and documents an organization chooses to bring into SALARA.
A Knowledge Source is trusted organizational material that SALARA is allowed to use for evaluation.
In this sprint, Your Organization can choose a website or documents as the first Acquire-stage source type. Choosing a source does not ingest, crawl, extract, or publish anything yet.
Organizational Reality
HR knows the handbook is important. Legal knows the policy appendix is important. Operations knows the procedure in the shared folder is important. Each group can name a source that matters.
When a new question arrives, the organization first has to decide which materials count as trusted sources, not merely which files are easy to find.
Why it happens
This commonly happens because source trust is often assumed instead of declared. Once a source boundary is unclear, downstream understanding becomes fragile.
