Website Sources
What is it?
Approved public websites that can begin the Acquire stage for an organization.
A Website Source is an approved public organizational website that the organization chooses to bring into SALARA.
In this sprint, the website path is a preparatory Acquire experience. It does not crawl or ingest the website.
Organizational Reality
HR updates the PTO policy on the company website. Managers continue using PDFs downloaded months earlier.
Employees receive different answers depending on who they ask. The public page is current, but the organization has not made that source boundary clear enough to replace the old copies in everyday work.
Why it happens
This commonly happens because websites can change faster than local habits. Without a clear source boundary, older copies keep competing with current guidance.
How it relates
- Approved siteOrganization chooses the source.
- Source boundaryConfirm what it represents.
- ProvenancePreserve origin before governance.
A website source is useful only when the organization approves it as a source of knowledge.
